We adopted an inpatient and ER Pediatric Asthma Protocol in 2004. The protocol was kindly provided by the Pulmonary Department at Children's Hospital in Denver Colorado. We have been using it with only minor modifications.
I am posting only our internal documents for now. This may give you an idea of how the protocol works.
We have been successful reducing the duration of hospitalization for pediatric asthma by using this algorithm.
I plan to publish the results in the near future.
